John 4:23,24
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Explanation of this verse:
Today, the bible verse is taken from John, and talks about the true meaning of worship. When Jesus talked to the Samaritan woman, he stressed that true worship comes from the heart and honesty, not from a specific place or ritual. The “hour” that is coming— which began with Jesus’ work— signals a change from the old agreement that centered worship around temples and certain religious practices. Instead, God looks for people who come to Him honestly and openly, no matter their situation.

The phrase “worship in spirit” means worship that is led by the Holy Spirit, who helps us connect with God the Father. It goes beyond just actions or how we show things on the outside; it’s really about what’s inside a person and having a deep connection with God. Worshiping in spirit means using your whole self and feeling a strong, deep connection with God. It’s a deep feeling that is more than just customs or traditions; it includes love, commitment, and respect from the heart.
