‘’Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken* the LORD, they have provoked* the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward’’.
Explanation of this verse:
The message of this today’s bible verse is still relevant for us today. We live in a world that is full of sin, and we are all tempted to turn away from God. However, we must remember that God is holy and just, and He will not tolerate sin. If we want to have a relationship with God, we must turn away from our sin and live in obedience to Him. Because our God is the true tree of life, the branch that abides in Him always bears fruit. We also need to examine ourselves, are we not like the nation of Israel?
The verse also reminds us that God is a loving God. Even though the nation of Israel had turned away from Him, He still loved them and wanted to have a relationship with them. He sent the prophet Isaiah to warn the nation of their sin and to call them to repentance. Which shows God’s true love for human beings and His beloved ones. Of course, God never puts His loved ones in trouble because He cannot see them in trouble.
If we are living in sin, we should not be afraid to turn to God in repentance. He is a loving God who wants to forgive us and restore our relationship with Him. We should be aware of our own sinfulness and confess our sins to God. We should turn away from sin and live in obedience to God. We should pray for God’s forgiveness and restoration. We should share the gospel with others so that they can know the love of God.
Let us not be like the nation of Israel in Isaiah 1:4. Let us turn away from our sin and live in obedience to God. He is a loving God who wants to have a relationship with us. He looks to us when His servants call upon Him. He forgives the sins of his servants again and again. And in our life, he tries to convince us by some sign to turn away from sins and turn to me. And those who do not turn to Him will surely perish. And then God will not save them.
