John 4:45
“Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.”
Explanation:
Today’s bible verse is taken from John, which points out how Jesus was welcomed by the Galileans upon His return from Jerusalem during the feast. They welcomed Him not necessarily due to profound spiritual insight or belief in His mission as divine, but simply because they saw the miracles He did in Jerusalem. Their acceptance of Him was based on what they saw miracles rather than a sincere acknowledgement of Who He was as the Messiah. This shows a human tendency to respond to apparent signs and wonders, not by looking for the underlying spiritual realities.
In this bible verse of the day, the Galileans’ acceptance of Jesus teaches us about the power of testimony and experience. For having also attended the feast and having seen His works in person, their hearts were opened up to accept Him. It is evidence that seeing God’s power with one’s own eyes can grant openness, but also indicates a faith that is initially superficial—one based on the things that are seen and not on understanding and belief. Jesus frequently wished for people to believe in Him not only due to signs, but because they saw deeply into His message and believed in Him through faith.

We need to seek Him in prayer, read His Word regularly, and trust Him even when we do not experience immediate results. Genuine faith develops not only out of what we see, but also out of a regular walk with God, founded on trust and love.
