Proverbs 4:15
“Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.”
Explanation:
Today’s bible verse offers a caution against walking down the road of evil and sin. It is imperative for the believer not only to keep oneself away from any form of evil encountered, but also to steer clear of sinning altogether. One is clearly urged to avoid all forms of temptation and evil in any way possible. Evil tends to arise from the smallest compromise, and as such, one must keep away from things that can make us stray from the ways of God.
In addition, the bible verse also highlights the need for careful decisions in everything we do. The Lord requires us to be spiritually watchful. It is not prudent to be fascinated by sins and test our strength in resisting temptations. Such prudence ensures that our hearts, minds, and souls do not get polluted with the negative results that follow when we associate ourselves with evil things. Walking in God’s ways gives us peace and security.

So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, what today’s bible verse says is that God desires His children to steer clear of the ways that lead them into sin and destruction. It is not a matter of testing how far one can go without succumbing to temptation, but rather steering clear of temptations altogether and pursuing things that please God. One way we can practice this verse in life would be by steering clear of any bad influences in our lives, picking the right friends, watching what we watch and listen to, and even making wise choices in whatever we do.
