Matthew 5:29
“And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
Explanation:
Today’s Bible verse: The words used by Jesus in this verse carry deep meaning and symbolism. It does not mean that he wants the believers to hurt themselves but that anything in life that is causing them to move away from God must be gotten rid of without hesitation. If something is a source of sin in one’s life, whether it is an object, activity, or person, then they should be prepared to do without that thing without a second thought because our eternal life with God is more important than any other earthly gain.
Today’s bible verse: This stanza is also a reminder that there will be severe consequences spiritually for sin if there is no repentance. The Lord asks His followers to seek holiness and to keep their hearts, minds, and conduct pure. With the help of the Holy Spirit, people can overcome the temptations and do the things that please God. Christ’s teachings show the significance of taking sin seriously and choosing faith over anything else.

This way, as we live holy lives and depend on the grace of God, we will draw closer to Him.
