John 4:50
“Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.”
Explanation:
Today’s Bible verse is taken from John. This verse shows the strength of true faith in its quiet and powerful way. The man came to Jesus with a pleading request, weighed down by the fear of his son’s death. Jesus did not go with him or show him some sign of the healing that was to come; rather, He gave him one word of hope. In this, the attention was turned from the problem to the promise. The healing began not when the son was healed, but when the father decided to believe the word of Jesus.
In this bible verse, The man’s reaction is as significant as the words of Jesus. The Bible says that “he believed and then he went his way.” He did not argue, he did not tarry, nor did he ask for a sign. He walked back home with nothing but the promise of Christ in his heart. This is a great lesson for us that believing God’s word is not just an agreement with it, but it is also acting on it even when circumstances have not changed yet.

So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today’s bible verse also tells us that God’s word is enough. We may not always see the immediate results, but when Jesus speaks, His word has life, healing, and power. Just like the man, we too are encouraged to believe before we see. In our everyday lives, we can apply this verse by trusting God’s promises, doing what God says, and moving forward in our lives with faith and not with fear. When we decide to trust God’s word and not our circumstances, we are giving God access to do what He does best.
