Matthew 5:21
“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.”
Explanation:
Today’s bible verse from Matthew tells us that the commands of God are not just related to the outward actions but also relate to the state of the human heart. The Lord Jesus tells us that since ancient times, God has said, “Thou shalt not kill,” and that if someone commits murder, there will be judgment. It indicates how important it is to end human life, and it means that God cherishes everyone. This is because human life is valuable since it is made by God.
Meanwhile, in this bible verse, Jesus was making his audience see some other spiritual point. In the verses to come, he goes on to say that anger, enmity, and resentment in the heart can make one sinful. The Lord is not concerned only with the actions we take but also with the thoughts and attitudes in our hearts. It is possible for a man to never murder anyone, but when he hates, does not forgive, or is bitter, then there is sin in his heart against the righteousness of God.

So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in summary, today’s Bible verse encourages us to show appreciation for life, manage anger, and coexist peacefully with one another. We are able to put this principle into practice by forgiving those who have wronged us, being gentle in our language, refraining from hating others, and preferring to be reconciled rather than at odds. By praying and obeying God, we are able to request that He cleanse our hearts.
