Explanation of this verse:
Today’s bible verse is taken from Isaiah. Which discusses the innate relationship that exists between our deeds and their results. Blessings and prosperity are promised to the virtuous, who live by God’s precepts and rules. They will “eat the fruit of their doings,” which means that their good deeds will benefit them in this life as well as the next. On the other hand, there is a warning of coming disaster for the wicked who choose to disobey God’s will and pursue their own wants. Their “reward of their hands” will be hardship and bad luck, which is a direct outcome of the decisions they made.
This bible verse, however, also alludes to a deeper reality about the nature of good and evil, going beyond the straightforward cause-and-effect relationship. By making the moral decision to behave morally, we improve the world in addition to ourselves. Our constructive deeds inspire others and build a more equitable and peaceful community. On the other hand, when we make the decision to behave cruelly, we add to the darkness in the world in addition to doing harm to ourselves. Our bad deeds set off a domino effect of pain and strife.
