“The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.”
Explanation of this verse:
Today’s bible verse is taken from Isaiah which is a powerful indictment of those who are openly sinful and unrepentant. The prophet Isaiah is describing people who are so brazen in their sin that their faces betray them. They don’t even bother to hide their wrongdoing; in fact, they seem to flaunt it. Isaiah continues by comparing these individuals to the notoriously corrupt and evil city of Sodom. They don’t worry about the repercussions since their wrongdoing consumes them so much. They will ultimately reap the consequences of their actions since they have rewarded themselves with wickedness.
This verse serves as a reminder that God cannot see our sins. He is aware of everything, and He will make us answer for our deeds. We must turn from our sin and turn to God if we are living in it. Although He is kind and forgiving, He will not put up with sin that is not repented of. Our sin will eventually come to light, no matter how hard we attempt to hide it. This is true because sin is a matter of the heart as much as behavior on the outside. Our souls become stained when we sin. And God can always see that stain.

So dear brothers and sisters, in today’s bible verse Isaiah says that those who are openly sinful and unrepentant are “rewarding themselves with evil.” This is because sin always leads to destruction. It destroys our relationships, our health, and our souls. We are all sinners, yet God is willing to pardon us. To atone for our sins, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer on the cross. We can receive forgiveness and a fresh start from Jesus if we turn from our sin and turn to Him. If you are struggling with sin, I encourage you to repent and turn to God. He is the only one who can forgive you and give you the strength to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
