‘’And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also’’.
Explanation of this verse:
This verse narrates the account of the Magi, also known as the Wise Men or Three Kings, who came from the East seeking the newborn King of the Jews. King Herod, who was ruling in Jerusalem at the time, heard about the Magi’s quest and was troubled by the news of a potential rival king. He wanted the Magi to find the child and inform him of the child’s location, claiming that he also wanted to worship the newborn king. However, in reality, Herod’s intention was to eliminate any potential threat to his own reign.
This verse is part of the broader story of the Nativity, and it foreshadows the darker events to come, as King Herod’s jealousy and fear lead to the tragic Massacre of the Innocents (the killing of male infants in Bethlehem). The Magi, warned in a dream, did not return to Herod, thereby escaping his malevolent plan. Instead, they presented gifts to the baby Jesus and then departed without disclosing the child’s whereabouts to King Herod.
From this Bible verse today, we learn that Lord Jesus Christ is the true Son of God. Those who were sent by God to this world to convey the word of God to his people. So as we see in this verse that the king of that time had a plan in his heart to destroy and kill the Lord Jesus Christ, which was not hidden from God, How could God allow his only son to die at the hands of this king, which is proof that God never lets his loved ones suffer. Also can protect from all evil and plans of enemies.
So dear, from this verse we get a lesson that just as the Magi accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and their living God, we should also accept him as our savior in our lives. Just as God saved his only son from the wrath of this king, surely in the same way God will remove all the problems and troubles from our lives and will save us from all the bad impurities and evils. We should just pray to our God with strong faith and fear Him, surely He will help us. He will shut the mouths of all our enemies who dig pits against us.
