“And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written*, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
Explanation of this verse:
Today’s bible verse is taken from Matthew. This bible verse records the devil’s temptation to Jesus. The devil, seeking to tempt Jesus away from his mission, quotes a passage from the Psalms to suggest that Jesus should prove his divine identity by throwing himself down from the pinnacle of the temple. Jesus’s response is a rebuke, and in order to prove his faith in God’s protection he quoted another verse from the Psalms. The devil’s temptation is a clever one. He appeals to Jesus’s ego, suggesting that if he is virtually the Son of God, he be able to function in an unbelievable act that will depart no doubt about his identity. The devil even provides an aiding Scripture passage, Psalm 91:11-12, which promises that God’s angels will guard those who have faith in him.
In this bible verse, we also see Jesus’ response, Jesus, however, is no longer fooled by the devil’s trickery. He is aware that God’s protection is now not based totally on public demonstrations of power. Instead, it is primarily based on a trusting relationship between God and his people. In response to the devil’s temptation, Jesus charges some other passage from the Psalms, Deuteronomy 6:16, which warns towards placing God to the test. This bible verse is a reminder that we should not put God to the test. We should trust in his promises and follow his commandments, even when it is difficult. The devil will always tempt us to doubt God, but we must remember that God is always with us and will never forsake us.
Conclusion:
So, my brothers and sisters, from this verse, We learn that satan always wants to take God’s people towards him and mostly succeed in his mission. Because people with weak faith are easily trapped in Satan’s words and make satan successful in his mission. So remember that whenever something prevents you from doing a good deed, understand that Satan is preventing you from doing God’s good deed. So remember that if you want to walk with God, you must never let the devil succeed. Before starting any work, you should place the work before God in prayer and ask for God’s help in this work so that you can succeed in this work. Just as Jesus fought the devil by quoting from the Holy Bible, we should also study the Holy Bible so that whenever the devil tries to attack us and try to trap us in any way, then we are able to fight with him. If he tries to trap us, we can fight him in every way.
