Mark 1:15
“And saying*, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe* the gospel.”
Explanation:
Today’s bible verse is the starting point of the ministry of preaching of Jesus Christ. Jesus announced that the time of salvation promised by God had come and that the Kingdom of God was coming nearer. The preaching by Jesus was full of urgency and was filled with hope. He urged people to repent and turn away from their sins and change their hearts towards God. Jesus intended for people to realize that God’s grace and salvation were being revealed through him to them.
Moreover, in this Bible verse, Jesus told them to believe in the gospel, which is the glad tidings of salvation. The belief in the gospel involves faith in Jesus Christ, His sayings, and even His atonement for mankind. This passage shows the relationship between repentance and faith because repentance gets a man closer to God, and faith gives him peace, forgiveness, and eternal life. Jesus called upon all people to forget their unbelief, pride, and sins and embrace the joy that comes with being in the kingdom of God.
