“And the people waited* for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple. ”
Explanation:
Todays bible verse explains to us the lesson of patience and trust in God’s work. There is a waiting period for Zacharias to come out from the temple but takes more time than the people were expecting. The people start to wonder why it takes long time for him to come out. Zacharias enters the temple for his priestly activities and at the same time, God sends his angel to deliver a message to him. This tells us that sometimes, God works in ways that we cannot comprehend or see. We worry about things that do not happen as we wish but should be patient in everything.
This bible verse is also an indication of how humans get curious or concerned when they are not aware of what is going on. The people who were outside of the temple did not have an idea about what was going on with Zacharias inside. Similarly, humans will not be aware of God’s workings in their lives or other peoples’ lives in the same way. It would help to refrain from drawing hasty conclusions when one does not have the complete information about everything. God could be preparing someone for something, teaching them something valuable, or guiding them according to his plan.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, From today’s bible verse, the lesson to be learned from Luke 1:21 is one of patience and the need to avoid hasty conclusions and to believe that the Lord works in ways and in times that we may not know and comprehend. As Christians, we can incorporate this message in our daily activities by staying calm when our prayers are not answered as we expect or our plans take more time than we had anticipated. In addition, we need to be patient with other people and avoid making judgments about them before we understand their situation.
