Isaiah 6:1
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.”
Explanation:
In this verse, from Isaiah 6:1, we are able to get the image of the supremacy and sovereign nature of God. “In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and lifted up; and His train filled the temple.” Even though there had been the death of a king here, the King of all kings was still seated on His throne. This teaches us that regardless of any change in important persons, situations, or sources of security, God is always in charge.
Today’s Bible verse: The verse also shows us how we need to recognize the holiness, greatness, and glory of God. The vision had made Isaiah look away from the uncertainties of the earthly kingdom and toward God who rules forever. There may be times when challenges and changes make us fearful and uncertain, but not God, for nothing can shake Him because of what goes on in this world. He is high and lifted up above everything else, and He deserves to be worshipped and obeyed.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, this lesson can be applied to our own lives by placing faith in God during times when situations change, and we lose items that give us assurance and comfort. Rather than succumbing to our fears, we need to realize that God is still seated on His throne and will continue to be faithful to us. We can take time to pray and worship, read His Word, ask for direction from Him, and turn our worries over to Him. As Isaiah did, we can look up to God and see his greatness and follow him wherever he takes us.
