Psalms 12:3
“The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things.”
Explanation:
Today’s Bible verse: “The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things” means that God cannot tolerate flattering or prideful speech. Words can be used by humans to mislead other people and manipulate them for personal advantage and other purposes, but there is no secret that cannot be known by God. God sees through the motives of every person who uses his or her tongue in a deceitful way. God judges all those people because they persistently lie, manipulate, boast about themselves, and commit evil acts using their tongues.
Today’s bible verse: This poem provides inspiration for those who are surrounded by dishonest and haughty people. The fact is that even when lies seem to have power and evil tongues seem to flourish, God is still in charge. Mankind may be swayed by flattering words, but God is not impressed; He prefers truth, humility, and sincerity. This helps us to know that pride and falsehood do not win out in the end. On the contrary, God asks His followers to use their tongues in a proper manner.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we should put this lesson into practice in our daily life by not flattering others so as to mislead them and by being careful about what we say as well as speaking the truth at all times. Before we speak, we need to check ourselves as to whether the things we say are truthful, gentle, and pleasing to God. There is an alternative that we can take to speak encouragingly to people instead of lying to them and humbling ourselves before God in our words.
