Luke 1:6
“And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.”
Explanation:
Today’s bible verse, it refers to the lifestyle of Zechariah and Elizabeth, who diligently worked for the glory of God in their hearts. They were righteous not because they were perfect people but because of their dedication to God, their obedience, and trust in Him. In spite of all the sorrow and despair that Zechariah and Elizabeth had to bear due to their inability to have a baby for so long, they never let this affect their faith in God.
Today’s bible verse: This passage also tells us that God cherishes those who walk in integrity rather than being impressed with their appearance. Zechariah and his wife had been walking in ways that pleased God in all aspects of their life. From their lives, we learn that God requires obedience from his children at all times, and not just during certain times or for specific reasons. Despite our unanswerable prayers, God sees how faithful we have been, and He operates in His timing.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, the teaching found in this scripture can be practiced in our lives by ensuring that we live in faithfulness before God on a daily basis and serve Him with all sincerity. Just like how Zechariah and Elizabeth lived their lives before God despite all difficulties and delays of getting His blessings, we must always be faithful to God’s commandments in our own lives. In being obedient, faithful, and honest, we honor God and set an example for others, because God surely rewards such people who have served Him with faith.
