Proverbs 5:2
“That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.”
Explanation:
Today’s Bible verse: This scripture also tells us how crucial it is to exercise discretion and speak wisely. The term “regard discretion” implies giving consideration to wisdom and proper judgment. It is what God would want us to consider before acting or deciding, so we can know if our decisions are right and beneficial for ourselves. Discretion will help us prevent any trouble or foolishness.
Today’s Bible verse. Also, the verse tells us that “our lips may keep knowledge.” This means that our lips will show what type of knowledge we have acquired. Our mouth should never be used carelessly, but rather it should be used wisely; it shouldn’t be used to spread rumors, to vent anger, or to tell lies. It should be used to speak out what is right. A wise person who uses his lips well shows that he values wisdom from God.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in summary, we can apply this passage in our daily living when we exercise caution before speaking, listen with our ears, and use appropriate words. Before coming up with decisions, we should ask for divine wisdom on whether what we plan on doing glorifies God. We must also speak words that will uplift and encourage other people, speak the truth, refrain from gossiping, and disseminate beneficial knowledge. With proper discretion and moderation in speaking, our way of life can mirror God’s wisdom.
