Romans 2:16
“In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”
Explanation:
Today’s Bible verse: In this Bible passage, we learn that the day will come when God will pass His judgment over the secrets of everyone by means of Jesus Christ. Humans might be capable of concealing their inner thoughts, intentions, words, and deeds from other people, but there is nothing concealed from God since He knows our innermost feelings and understands the truth behind all that we do. While human judgment might be limited to what is visible, the judgment of God is always right because He knows everything.
Today’s bible verse: This scripture verse is also a reminder that Jesus Christ has been chosen as the Judge whose judgment will come with the truth of the gospel. This is something that we should think about when considering the seriousness of our spiritual lives. It should not be about trying to live in such a way that will make others think we are righteous while having bitterness, pride, lying, unrighteousness, or selfishness in our hearts. It is God who wants us to genuinely turn away from our sins.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, this scripture enjoins us to walk in honesty and faithfulness before God at all times. The teachings of this scripture can be applied by us through self-examination and confessing our sins, repenting of evil works, forgiving others, and trying to walk according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Rather than being concerned about what we look like before men, we should strive to please God in our thoughts and deeds. Let us live each day with a clear conscience and true faith in God who knows our secrets and heart.
