Isaiah 6:2
“Above it stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.”
Explanation:
In this verse, through this passage from the Bible, a clear image is painted about the angels who were above the throne of God. Each angel was equipped with six wings; they used two of the wings to cover their faces, two to cover their feet, and the other two to fly. The position that they adopt portrays reverence, humility, and fear of the holy God. These celestial beings even showed much reverence in the sight of God.
Today’s Bible verse: The seraphim also prove that in order to be in the service of God, one needs to have humility and preparedness. In covering their faces and feet, the seraphim could teach us about the idea of humility, and in using their wings to fly, it proves that they are always ready to serve according to the Lord’s will. This verse reminds us of the holiness of God and how anyone who comes to Him should approach Him humbly and not proudly.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, ultimately, this passage challenges us to be humble, reverent, and ready to serve God. In application, we should pray and worship God with reverence, avoid being arrogant, and serve others in obedience to God’s will. Like the seraphim who were committed to the glory of God and His service, so too we need to strive to show reverence for God in all our thoughts, words, decisions, and actions. As we realize the holiness and greatness of God, we should manifest humility and devotion to Him.
