Isaiah 6:6
“Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.”
Explanation:
In this verse, the following verse from Isaiah chapter six verse six says, “Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand…” This incident occurred when Isaiah had acknowledged his own sinful nature and declared that he was a man of unclean lips. The live coal stands for God’s holy process of preparing and cleansing. Isaiah could not cleanse himself through his own strength; God gave him the way out.
Today’s Bible verse: This verse tells us that when we acknowledge ourselves for who we really are before God and humbly confess our sins before Him, then God will purify us, make us ready, and be ready for His purpose in our lives. The fire was from the altar; that means that God’s holiness has the power to purify even a sinner. To become a servant of God, one had to be cleansed by God first.
Conclusion:
So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, this lesson can be applied to our personal lives when we humbly admit our faults and weaknesses before God and ask Him to cleanse and transform us. Our sins and past failures should not stop us from coming closer to God because they should not be allowed to make us feel guilty and unworthy to come to God. Rather than letting all of these things take us farther away from God, we need to submit our hearts before Him so that His Word will clean our minds and actions.
