Matthew 5:45
“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Explanation:
This verse, the passage in Matthew 5:45, gives us an insight into the grace, generosity, and loving nature of our heavenly Father. God makes the sun rise and the rain fall on the righteous and unrighteous alike; therefore, His blessings are not limited to the righteous alone. God shows patience and generosity towards those who do not acknowledge Him. This reveals that God is a merciful God and continues giving people chances to turn to Him.
Today’s Bible verse: Jesus continues to say that being God’s children entails being like Him in how we deal with other people. We should not be kind to people only if they are nice to us, but we are expected to love people even if they do not love us. God gives us an example by telling us that it is wrong to hate, have malice, or discriminate against people, but we are to love others and have compassion on them.

So, Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, this can be applied in our lives by deciding to be kind, patient, forgiving, and loving towards all people, including those who do not treat us well, but also those who support us and are our friends. We can pray for those who have done wrong to us and help the needy people, not discriminating against anyone based on their differences from us. By being good to others without receiving anything in return, we portray the likeness of our heavenly Father and live as His children.
